My Papaw. May he rest in peace. The year before he died he discovered that my mother (his daughter) had a young black walnut tree on her property. Black walnuts are their favorite type of nuts. He told her it would be a few years before it would bear fruit but that when it did it would bear a lot of nuts. The summer after he died it produced a ton of nuts years before its time, but has not bore any since then. My mom believes it was him who helped the tree produce that year, and has put a chair out there for him to sit in as a memorial to him.
